Merger Proposal
[edit]I propose merging Portugis into Kristang language.
The latter article already says, Locals and most of the Kristang community in Malacca refer to the language as "Portugis". This clearly indicates that it is the same language. Consequently, there is no reason for two articles about the same language to exist under different names.
I think the limited unreferenced content in this article can easily be included within the context of the Kristang article, and a merger would not cause any article-size or weighting problems in the latter.

- I believe they are actually different languages that have the same name due to both being Portuguese-based language creole, and Portugis is linked on the Kristang article in error. I think they should be distinguished with hatnotes instead. Saltpike (talk) 21:27, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- Closing, given the uncontested object and no support. Klbrain (talk) 12:53, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
